PrintFinder collects the minimum needed to find print files, keep your library in sync, and enforce the monthly import limit. We do not sell your data, we do not run ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | To create and sign you in to your account. Optional — the app works without an account. |
| Username | Shown next to comments you post. |
| Password | Handled by our authentication provider and stored only as a salted hash. We never see or store your password. |
| Links you share | The post URL, its caption, and still frames from the video are processed to identify the object and search for a matching model. |
| Your library | Saved prints, collections, and likes, so they sync across your devices when signed in. |
| Device identifier | Apple's per-vendor device ID and a DeviceCheck token, used only to count free imports per device so the limit can't be reset by reinstalling. This is not an advertising identifier and is never used for tracking. |
| Notification token | To send the "your print is ready" alert. Only if you allow notifications. |
| Import counts | A monthly tally per account and per device, to apply the free limit. |
| Comments | Comments you post are public and visible to other users, alongside your username. |
| Invite data | Your invite code and which accounts redeemed it, to award bonus imports. |
| Subscription status | Whether you have an active subscription, so paid features unlock. Apple processes the payment — we never receive your payment details. |
| Diagnostic logs | Short-lived technical logs to debug failures. Held in memory and lost on restart. |
When a post is identified, we cache the result against that post so the next person who shares the same video gets an instant answer without re-running the analysis. This cache stores the post link, its caption, and the matched model — not your identity, account, or device.
We use a small number of service providers, each handling only what their function requires:
Account data is kept while your account exists. Local data (library, collections, preferences) stays on your device until you delete the app or clear it in the app. Cached find results are retained indefinitely in anonymised form, because they are not linked to you.
You can delete your account from inside the app: Settings → My account → Delete account & data. This removes your cloud library, subscription record, usage counters, and your login itself, and wipes local data on the device. It cannot be undone.
Cancelling a subscription is separate and is done in your Apple ID settings — deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. The in-app deletion above satisfies most requests immediately; for anything else, contact us and we'll respond within 30 days.
PrintFinder is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Traffic between the app and our server is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to production data is restricted to the developer. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
If this policy changes materially we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
